Bank branch

Reviewing the energy monitoring on a bank branch, we found:

  • HVAC assets operating outside of business hours

  • Equipment continuously cycling in early mornings and weekends (a scheduling, thermostat and duct sensor issue)

  • A building constructed before current energy standards in building codes existed

Commercial solar & battery upgrade

On another commercial site, monitoring picked up a repeated energy spike each morning caused by several motors starting up at once. Staging that switching and adding variable speed drives is expected to cut the constant base load and the variable switching load. Following a solar and battery upgrade guided by the same monitoring data, grid-supplied energy fell sharply in its first full week, with existing solar covering a further share of total generation.
